Trenér Angličanů Roy Hodgson musel dva týdny před fotbalovým mistrovstvím Evropy povolat nového náhradního brankáře. Trojka John Ruddy z Norwiche si totiž při tréninku zlomil prst na ruce.

Jedničkou anglické reprezentace je Joe Hart z Manchesteru City, dvojkou Robert Green z West Hamu United. Ruddy dosud za národní týmu nechytal, jako druhý náhradník pojede místo něj na Euro Jack Butland z Birminghamu.

Angličané budou hrát ve skupině D na Ukrajině s domácím týmem, Francií a Švédskem.
